Extremely well done impressionist landscape of Autumn Foliage titled Early November Woodland signed lower left by the Artist. In the original period wood frame with a tag from the Columbus Art League en verso. 18"h. x 28"w., in a frame, 24.25"h. x 34.5"w. Originally from Clarksburg Ohio, artist Dora G. McCollister graduated from the Columbus School of Art (Ohio) in 1932 and went on to become the very first person to be awarded a degree in Fine Arts from the Ringling College of Art and Design (Sarasota, Florida) in April, 1937. Throughout her long career she explored a breadth of artistic styles, including impressionism, abstract, traditional landscape, and portraiture.
